The mixed/rendered track was then put into Adobe Addition CC for Mastering. ![]() Then I added compression and EQ on various tracks, added a reverb track, and mixed it with Ozone 8 going through the Master. Once the bass part was recorded with a click track, I played the Volca on a separate track. Reaper DAW, mixing 3 tracks, and 1 reverb track. Using my fingers made it easier to switch between solo melodic parts and fingered bass parts. The bass is a Hofner violin bass, I de-tuned the bass’s E string, dropping it to a D (D, A, D, G) this enabled me to finger pick the melody line as well as keeping a rhythmic line going as well. Changing between patterns or using part of patterns. Then I played the volca over the top of the bass and improvising the rhythms. Later I added effects with “Guitar Rig” and “Line 6”. I made 10 rhythmic patterns from individual preset samples, when played I switched between the patterns to make the rhythms in the recording using Reaper DAW, improvising on the fly.īass improvisation was done on Reaper DAW, first by using a click track and playing how I wanted. It was difficult to use at first, but after following tutorials on Youtube I got the idea and now I love it. I have been using the Korg Volca Sampler for about a month now.
